SCI Foundation Scholarship

SCI Foundation Proud to Award Five College Scholarships

Tucson, Arizona – The Safari Club International Foundation Education Department has awarded five scholarships for 2007. The final selections were made on May 11, 2007.

Scholarship winners must attend an accredited four year college or university and be recommended by an SCI chapter.

The 2007 Four Year Scholarship winners are: Erin Barnes, Spring Grove, Pennsylvania (Susquehannock Chapter), attending Penn State University; Samantha Pedder, Greensburg, Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh Chapter), attending Penn State University; Tealicia Joseph, Crystal Falls, Michigan (Northwoods Chapter), attending University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point; and Thomas Schultz, Marysville, California (Sacramento Chapter), attending Stanford University. 

The SCIF American Wilderness Leadership School Scholarship has been awarded to Anna Whittington of Benton, Louisiana who attends Louisiana State University.

Each student will receive a scholarship of $600 per semester for four years, based on full enrollment.

As of January 2007, SCIF Scholarship payments have totaled $236,456 to 79 college students.

Congratulations to each of these students and may they enjoy a life time of success in their chosen career fields and in promoting the goals and objectives of SCI and the SCI Foundation.

In addition to the scholarships above, the SCIF Education Department offers a two-year upper level conservation scholarship to applicants who are of junior status by the current year’s fall semester and are currently enrolled full time at an accredited college or university.  Preference is given, but not limited to, individuals enrolled in a resource management or conservation related field.
