Designed and coordinated by Francis Lombardi of Syracuse, NY, this years rifle will comprise the finest metal and wooding craftsmanship available today. The 2010 rifle is built on the highly collectible and proven Winchester pre-64 Model 70 action and chambered for the universal .300 Winchester magnum caliber. The rifle is barreled with a 24” half-round/half-octagonal barrel machined from a Krieger blank. The barrel blank and contour millwork was donated by Sunny Hill Enterprises along with all of the bottom metal. Metalwork was performed and donated by master craftsman Dean Zollinger of Dean’s Custom Guns. The exhibition grade California Claro walnut stock is crafted into a beautiful classic style sporter and hand-checkered with a 24 lines-per-inch pattern. A Sunny Hill Enterprises skeleton grip cap has been added for detail. Master Craftsman Mark Soltau of Soltau’s Custom Guns has kindly donated his time and efforts for this year’s rifle with the stock finishing and engraving. While most all of the work and components have been generously donated by the artisans involved, this rifle has a market value in excess of $9,000 and will be the trophy in any gun collection for years to come.
